GeZA8 9:15 : ܒܟܠܗ ܚܘܕܪܐ ܕܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܝܛ܊  in the whole cyclical course of 19 years. (b) ܒܚܘܕܪܐ around about  Syr. 1Esdras(3 Ezra) 1:50 : ܗܢܘܢ ܩܛܠܘ ܠܝܢܣ̈ܩܐ ܕܝܠܗܘܢ ܒܣܝܦܐ ܒܚܘܕܪܐ ܕܗܝܟܠܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܝܠܗ  they killed their youngsters by the sword around its holy Temple [LXX περικύκλῳ τοῦ ἁγίου αὐτῶν ἱεροῦ].

3  circle  Syr. (a) w. ܪܒܐ : great circle on a sphere (as in the modern 'great circle' route  Syr. BHads 6:12 : ܥܲܪܩܬܐ ܕܐܣܦܝܪܐ ܐܝܬܸܝܗ ܚܘܕܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܕܩܵܐܡ ܬܪܝܨܐܝܬ ܥܠ ܣܪܢܐ ܘܦܘ̈ܠܘ ܕܐܣܦܝܪܐ ܗܸܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܗܸܢܘܢ ܦܘ̈ܠܘ ܕܥܸܪܲܩܬܵܗ ܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ̈ ̈  The equator of a sphere is that great circle positioned perpendicularly to an axis while those same poles of the sphere are the poles of its equator. BHads 6:5 ; .
