In Syriac the feminine adds a yodh before the feminine ending, except in the emphatic singluar; hence sg. ܙܥܘܪܝܵܐ ܙܥܘܪܝܲܬ ܙܥܘܪܬܵܐ ; pl. ܙܥܘܪ̈ܝܵܢ ܙܥܘܪ̈ܝܵܬ ܙܥܘܪ̈ܝܵܬܵܐ -- see SG§71:2
