Text according to Arthur Vööbus, The Syro-Roman Lawbook,
Vol. I: The Syriac Text with an Introduction, Papers of the Estonian
Theological Society in Exile 36 (Stockholm, ETSE): 1982, esp. pp. 1-66,
and Vol. II: A Translation with Annotations, Papers of the Estonian
Theological Society in Exile 39 (Stockholm, ESTE): 1983. This edition is
based on three new manuscripts unknown to previous editors: Ms. Damascus
Patr. 8/11, Ms. Mardin Ortḥ 316 and Ms. Mardin Ortḥ 323. Apparently,
Vööbus refers to these MSS as A, B and C respectively.
The entire corpus has now been edited in a critical edition divided into 3 major
recensions (along with quotations from later works) in the fine three-volume edition of
Walter Selb and Hubert Kaufhold, Das syrisch-roemische Rechtsbuch,
Vienna, Verlag der Oesterreichischen Akkademie der Wissenschaften, 2002.
